At least IE7 is twice as fast as FF2.x and rarely crashes or hangs unlike FF2, which is frequently crashing or locking up on me. I work on Mac OSX at my day job. I used to think my next home system would be a Mac -- the slick interface, cool usability, and semblance of unix. But, guess what: After drinking your kool aid for over a year, I've changed my mind. I just don't think it makes me any more productive, and I'm sick of the compatibility problems it has with quality free software packages (from server software and development tools to quality open source content authoring tools, etc). I'll take my favorite Linux Distro over OSX any day. Good luck to you and your knucklehead hater brethren. The Trolltech Labs rant is interesting. Mainly, though, it just tells my what I already knew - NVidia's closed-source Linux driver is still a buggy, sucky mess, especially on KDE 4. (For example, the godawful Konsole performance is a known issue with them). I gave up and used the reverse-engineered open source drivers, since they worked better for what I wanted and actually had prompt bugfixes.
More seriously, someone really ought to fix KDE 4's handling of full disks so that people's config files don't get eaten. I got caught by that a couple of times, and it's nasty.
Incidentally, I see you've never tried to get wireless networking working on Windows XP - it can get fairly confusing. (Of course, Linux was even worse back then). You've also not noticed Windows' distinction between total, available and used disk space and why they don't always add up.
Finally, I think everyone realises, for now, that IE is important. Every website designer who has to deal with it also wishes it didn't exist, and it deserves it. It has a justified reputation for being buggy, horrid and incompatible with every other browser, even amongst non-Linux users.

NVidia's closed-source Linux driver is still a buggy, sucky mess, especially on KDE 4.
One of the reasons NVIDIA may never open up their drivers is that they have to protect HD content in GPU memory. They do that with virtual memory adressing You cant have the frame buffer copied over (ripped) when content is playing.
I dont know how ATI solved that. Or maybe they just dont allow HD content to be played on Linux.
