To all you mono haters

Take that.

But seriuosly. Why don't we all just wait another 20 years until everyone forgets that C# came from Microsoft. Then can we use it? I'm sure by then, the real OS'es of the world will have moved onto something even more productive, and freetards will continue to re-discover everything all over again.

Oh, and btw. Gnote is the most retardonkulous project ever. Could you guys also port Banshee, Beagle and F-spot too? Fuck. Not only do you guys waste your time creating busted clones of proprietary software, now you're creating busted clones of free software too? Amazing.

Actually, I don't think my left buttcheek agrees with C++. Could we please get a port of Gnote to assembly code?

Oh wait, I think there's a lot of IP in intel x86 assembly. Hmm, how about then you port it to something that runs on the OGP card. That would be, like, totally awesome.

Mono on Linux is such a waste of good effort. The Mono developers should join up with the .NET staff at Microsoft and make the native framework even better.

Anonymous said...

Mono's isn't just for Linux; Mono's the best cross-platform .NET implementation, beating out Microsoft's own Silverlight 2. You can use Mono on Linux, Windows, and OS X, as well as Wii, iPhone, and other similar platforms, which supplements .NET on Windows, Zune, and Xbox 360 from Microsoft. This just makes it great to be a .NET developer

I love how freetards, who are almost universially broke-ass college students and trailertrash, are absolutely sure that Microsoft is going to bust into their house, scan their computer for patent-infringing software, and then personally sue them for millions of dollars.

The realistic worst case scenario in this Mono drama is that MS and Novell come to some sort of deal and a few packages are dropped. Its not like Linux nerds aren't rewriting their desktop software from scratch every couple years anyway.

But noooo, the paranoid hysterics that use Linux have been FUD flinging and melting-down for years about some relatively unimportant desktop software.

Can we code Mono C# in emacs or vim? Should be funner than Visual Studio.

Love one of the comments that followed:

"The last Linux machine I ran was in 1994, and I hate to say it, but as much as your response was (for the most part) well-written and even-handed, it points out precisely the reason why every time I even have an inkling to take yet-another-look at Linux, I run away quickly:

All the god-damned self-righteous assholes taking what was a cute student-project of an OS and turning it into a religious movement."

It's just a dam shame this talented individual has to write so eloquently to justify himself to the loontards.

Gee so much pain, death and destruction over what is essentually just another lump of GPLd code, you know just like the Linux kernel.

So if the GPL is now in question, regarding its validity, because NOW. The GPL by itself is not enough for you to be FOSS.

You have to be GPL and cowtow to the powers to be, for some kind of GPL + Official blemming, mabey RMS performs a little ritual.

But This is looking like a FOSS Civil war, what is at steak of the validity and viability of the GPL itself.

Gee, MS does not have to take down FOSS, they are more than capable of imploding all by themselvles.

IF GPL code, is no longer the minimun requirement to be FOSS, one has to ask what is.

Do you need the GPL and be licked by people, do you need the GPL and not be MS??

Why not just invalidate the GPL and forget the whole thing,,, OH WIAT !!!!!

Anonymous said...

The mono haters have an actual point. If a bunch of critical software starts being developed in mono, there is even less reason to use linux.... Because mono works great in windows as well.

I think I finally grok why fosstards are against freedom.

It's funny, thought, that being all these people a bounch of freetards, MicroSoft is pushing so much to squeeze them.

You can be disappointed by all these efforts, but you can hardly justify the operations and plans of MS to encourage and exploit the implementations of their stuff to feed legal issues.
You know? among the whole OS panorama, I think that's the less meaningful critics I can see.

What exactly do fosstards think not having ANY kind of structure will do? How do they expect people to program in the future, when linux development tools are falling further behind and becomes harder? This is enough, let all Linux desktop projects just DIE already. Fosstards are rapidly driving the nail in the coffin first the eglib fiasco, now this.

I’m amazed at the amount of freetards – who generally never typed a line of code – who loathe MDI.

MDI wrote Gnumeric, which is still one of the best open source applications, behaving incomparatibly better than the OOo shit.

When MDI started to work on Mono, I wondered, like many other ones, whether he had blown his top. Looking at where Mono is now, you have to admit it was a genius move. By using the real advantages of open source development, he was able to bring the product to a level where it actually competes with Microsoft products; where e.g. game developers consider it a serious alternative. Some of the applications written for Mono (think F-Spot for example) are completely blowing up all alternatives.

MDI actually brings more free software, and he does it where it matters, but freetards would crucify him if they could.

Anonymous said...

They hate MDI because he called them out on their obsolete 1970s unix development methodologies. This was a direct attack on the core of freetardation because it threatened their ability to reinvent every single wheel for every application.

Of course they completely missed the point and went off and developed a bunch of other bloated application frameworks like Mozilla XUL and Eclipse SWT, all of which the programming market has soundly rejected. Heaven forbid you code your crappy open source clone of a real application using a technology that actually appears in job advertisements. Someone might realize you aren't a programming uebergod after all.

To be honest, I think the Linux community has the manpower and talent to pwn Microsoft. But it's dumb shit like this that holds it back. FFS, in some way Miguel de Icasa is like the biggest cockblock in the history of free software. He is responsible for creating Mono, and thus creating Mono drama, as well as fucking up KDE potential, by forking half the community to Gnome. Now we have at least two inconstant "interfaces" on the Linux desktop because of this fucker.

This man single handedly fucked up the entire Linux desktop better then anyone else could have. And the crazy thing is he doesn't do it on purpose (I think). It's so amazing.

Freetards are like Communists and French Jacobins: the only type of freedom worth having is their freedom. You shouldn't be free to choose software, you shouldn't be free to use software -- unless it conforms to the Freetard definition of free. You have to run it past the Central Freedom Committee (aka Slashdot) first, before being allowed to use it.

Sad thing about this is: Compiz doesn't work across dual screens correctly and extending the desktop doesn't work across dual screens either. Yet all these Freetards are sat around wanking and whinging over Mono when the very basics of the OS, they think is ready for the desktop, doesn't fucking work.

These fuckers need to get a grip before they advocate such shit software.

To be honest, I think the Linux community has the manpower and talent to pwn Microsoft.

To be honest I don't think they have what it takes, never really did, and have, relatively speaking, less resources than they used to. At this point, I don't even think they have the stuff to compete with niche players like Apple.

Talk about misplaced blame. You guys go on and on about how great choice is, even when it's confusing or inappropriate. What you don't get is this "fork everything" mentality isn't specific to de Icaza. It's endemic of the entire UNIX culture. Had GNU, MIT, and/or TOG gotten their acts together TEN YEARS EARLIER, the ecosystem wouldn't have allowed whatever damage you think de Icaza is responsible for.

Anonymous said...

"On 2009-11-03 GNU/Linux will gain the ability to control group policy via a central management application...Don't worry, the hatertards will claim it never happened."

Well, it hasn't happened yet, and Linux has let us down time and time again with this just around the corner stuff. How's xorg and DRI2 doing, by the way? Speaking of 2004, isn't that when all that big stuff was supposed to happen? Still looking like a lame ass fork of XFree86 to me. Declare victory now, but this whole thing will be pointless if it doesn't compare favorably to Windows server 2008 (R2).

Yet another poor clone of MS stuff, that won't half deliver, 2 decades late, basic functionality we've taken for granted for ages.

You'll have to edit .conf files, somehow try to make it work with samba and/or openldap manually (editing more .conf files), for which there will be 3456 entries on Google (none that actually works). So you'll be reading outdated and plain wrong articles, wiki entries, asking on IRC and so on for hours (only to see it break at the next dist upgrade), only to have functionality Windows has out of the box, without so much as a single click. And each little piece will use it's own password set, config files and of course separate admin tools that don't look anything alike and don't work together at all.

I give them 20 years to come up with a half-assed, buggy, incomplete imitation of NT4 policies (nevermind the forks that will happen, people who will cry bloody murder just like for mono as it's MS' tech and so on).

Yep. If it ever happens, it'll only be stuck 20 years behind as the rest of Linsux. Cheap shitty knockoffs for those who don't value their time, heh.

Hello I am here again for you all Anonymous bitches !!!

(at least I post my real name and blog, even though it's full of shameful posts, bunch of fags)

So, what is wrong with Mono, .NET and C# ?

THEY ARE ALL MICROSOFT SHIT

I'm not here to discuss whether it's right or wrong because we all know that Microsoft lacks the ability to do good things, it's technically impossible for them to make a good piece of ANYTHING, just like history has shown.

C# is a perfect mix of the antique C's syntax and Java's slowness, but I never actually used it for anything.

I don't think money should be being wasted in such an stupid project, the only reason M$ is doing this is to bring real programmers to their new "open" communities, like codeplex and that kind of shit.

Money should be put in great projects like QT4 (which is extremely flexible, integrates great in any desktop environment, is multi-platform and is awesomely fast) or Python which is being already used world-wide from web-programming to games and from a plug-in scripting language to every day applications.

In any moment M$ will stop throwing their fucking money into Novell's pocket and Mono will be forgotten for ever.

My Linux box is more than complete without a single piece of C#, but you, shitty non-freetards, know that every time you enter a webpage or IM a friend you are doing it on top of free and open source software like Apache, PHP, and Python, you totally depend on it, and that is truly a shame :(

Explain open source usage in Y!, MSN, or AIM. Don't even think about bringing up TOC. And what about sites that don't use any of Apache, PHP, or Python? There are lots of those.

Aside, I don't get all the Python love. I mean it's okay, but I don't get all this Python is exponentially faster than C# stuff because I don't think it's true. I also like how people feel justified in shitting all over geniuses like Anders Hejlsberg just because Microsoft commissioned him to a project.

"but I never actually used it for anything."

Which only further demonstrates your complete cluelessness. You might as well have said you don't know jack shit, it's just as accurate, only shorter. If Google wasn't around, you wouldn't have the slightest idea what C# is.

"every time you enter a webpage or IM a friend you are doing it on top of free and open source software"

Lots of my web pages are served by non-open source stuff. My IM doesn't use any open source stuff. But even on the open source served stuff, lots of it is served using BSD. Not that it actually matters (Linux is simply the lowest common denominator -- any piece of shit OS can do trivial shit like that just fine). You also happen to rely on FAR MORE closed-source stuff for everyday life (beyond web pages). This is about the _Linux desktop_, but I understand that's too hard for you to grasp.

"Windows is useless shit"

Yes, all Windows apps are useless too, that's why you guys need WINE and also try to copy it all, right!

Linux is worse than useless. It's less than nothing. It's worthless too -- actually, if you put any value on your time, it's worth less than that. Enjoy that stinking pile of shit you dumb freetard.

Okay. Take BIND out (whose security sucks more than every Microsoft program ever written combined) and then what? Is this all you have? Exactly. From audio apps, to many (most?) CAD apps, video editing apps, graphic apps, accounting apps, even games... Linux hardly has anything worthwhile, and 99%+ of the best tools don't run on it.

"plenty of which in the EDA world."

Like OrCAD, Altium Designer, various FPGA tools, DSP tools, most test software (e.g. for JTAG boundary scan) and many, many more. Or most embedded tools even (e.g. imagecraft & iar -- no, GCC isn't the same, various ICE for different CPU series and much, MUCH more). Or the software for the vast majority of electronics equipment I've seen (universal chip programmers, GPIB equipment and so on). Saying Linux sucks here is the understatement of the century. It doesn't have 1% of what Windows has to offer.

You fail at debating, you fail at life. Hope you die soon! :)

Saying Linux sucks here is the understatement of the century. It doesn't have 1% of what Windows has to offer.

Being sensible for a moment, all that 3rd party stuff would come to Linux if it had: 1) a stable API, 2) ONE GUI toolkit, 3) ONE set of fucking sound libraries, 4) a decent community that isn't full of Linux Yoof cretins and cunts, 5) orthogonal to four, not a million forks of every library/application, 6) orthogonal to five, a decent desktop market share.

Basically Linux is like Africa. If those fuckers in Africa got their shit together, stopped inter-tribe fighting, blaming the West for all their problems and formed a single democratic country, they'd be a force to be reckoned with. Unfortunately they don't get their shit together and spend most of their time splintering off into small warring factions. Just like Freetards.

As the Linux Hater showed in this post, the Linux Yoof would rather incite a flame war than do any real work. Cunts.

Anonymous said...

Yes I will, assuming Linux delivers, which it won't because it never does.

Prove me wrong by creating something that drags Linux out of the gutter. So far it's only good for providing services that were invented on UNIX in the 70s-80s, and even then it's not really better, just cheaper.

Yep, that really needed a 60 paragraph essay to describe, boring everyone, when JustAroundTheCorner(TM) does just as good (everyone gets it -- call it a tl;dr version)

Come on now, you're not really pushing the "Linux is new" argument, are you?

What's to disprove? I have no problem believing "something" will be released on whatever date. I do have a hard time believing that whatever it is will even come close to rivaling services provided by Windows 2003, let alone Windows 2008 R2. Even if RedHat/Fedora were totally competent, they don't control enough of the infrastructure to pull it off.

Still, if FreeIPA can act as a drop-in replacement for even Windows 2000 (read: must fully serve Windows clients and serve as an Exchange backend), I expect it to do very well as the potential cost savings of such a thing would be too enormous to ignore.

I don't expect any of this to happen. If it all does is do LDAP type stuff for Linux clients then it's useless because Linux doesn't have the application base to make it worth the bother. I'm sure the five all-Linux shops out there will eat it up, however.

Yeah, only nine years late eh? Think serving Windows with AD stuff is more a thing for Samba4, which is already being used for AD in some shops. So if you're in a Windows-only or mixed shop, you'd be better off with Samba.

Even if I agree with you that Samba offers (or will offer) equal or better functionality to Active Directory, it's still fail because now I need to bolt on projects where I could just get the integrated package from Microsoft and will end up getting anyway because the Linux ecosystem does not offer a complete solution.

What's offered by Windows Server is more than LDAP. Yeah, yeah, I've read the developers' comments and they talk the talk. We'll see. I'll let you in on a little secret: Samba 4 has the highest chance to impress me of any current FOSS project. I still expect to be let down.

Anonymous said...

"he'll be on our side in 6 months like everyone else"

As soon as the wobbly windows start being stale on his Unbunturd box, and that he starts to want software worth using again, and perhaps some games.

Anonymous said...

"Microsoft and will end up getting anyway because the Linux ecosystem does not offer a complete solution."

Absolutely. A typical SME can spend a few bucks and get SBS, and be done with it. Just about anyone can handle everyday tasks (like creating user accounts and such). Buy the server which already comes with the software ready to use, and you're done.

With Linux, you likely have to find some place local that's knowledgeable at building Linux servers (or look for one online). Then pick some distros to try them all... Pick a $150+/hour consultant to set it up, configure samba/openldap/mail/dns and whatever... Then call him back every time you got any work to do on that box (assuming you can even find competent linux admins locally -- never an issue with Windows). Not exactly attractive to most businesses. And we're still not talking about exchange or sharepoint or anything else.

Linux will need a LOT more than just samba to catch on.

Hey douchebag in case you didn't notice this is the Linux Hater's Blog, thus pissing on linux here is not trolling but in fact making a positive contribution to the ongoing discussion.

As for mono I agree with the other poster about Miguel wasting his time with linux. His work isn't appreciated by the linux cult and even worse linux programmers tend to be trendsters when it comes to develoment platforms. Mono has already become somewhat useful so in linux tradition it will soon be dumped for a new alternative that lacks equal functionality but none the less if favored by the slashdot crowd.

Speaking of programming in linux, where are all the games? The xbox 360 has had better games from one-man develoeprs in the past few years than Linux has had in 15. Isn't Linux supposed to be the programmer's system? What a bunch of bullshit. I'm still waiting for all those ruby web apps that were supposed to replace desktop applications and solve the linux distro/api clusterfuck problem.

You can't teach Windows users anything so blogs like this only stir up trouble for the knowledgeable world.

And Microsoft "invented" C#? Heh, heh. Give .NET stuff a few years and it will follow the Win32 API, MFC, and all those other things that fall by the wayside in pursuit of the Windows lemming dollars as they yell "Thank you, sir. May I give some more!".

Anonymous said...

And Microsoft "invented" C#? Heh, heh.

Yes, Microsoft "invented" C#. Hard shocking news, isn't it? They've even invented more programming languages like VB and F#. What languages came from the GNU/Linux/Freetard community the last 20 years again? Exactly, Heh, heh.

Give .NET stuff a few years and it will follow the Win32 API, MFC

Follow it where? MFC is alive and kicking: Announcing Major MFC Update. And the WinAPI stays where it has been the last couple of decades.

Ohh, now I get it, you're not knowing what you're talking about and just came here to get off some flames. Don't you worry, just stay on your Linux failboat along with your brothers in zealotry until the next fad-OS emerges that you can hop over to. Until then, just chill out while chewing a mouthful of callus scraped from your Guru's feet.

Anonymous said...

Actually With Vista and Windows 7 Microsoft is pushing even more on .Net, and maybe in the future it would become the equivalent of the Win32 API on Windows.

Also it's not limited to one platform, the Framework has versions of it for PocketPCs and smartphone (.Net Compact Framework), and even other portable/small devices (.Net Micro Framework). With the understanding of one single language, and one single framework you can pretty much make applications for everything on the market today.

I don't know if it would last years to come, maybe some day they will find something even more productive and that would become the programming foundation for Windows.

The fact here is, it's a standard, unified framework you can use to make anything. From games to services, to office applications, it's really that flexible and full of features. Mono it's a nice project, and really one of the most complex problem for me was code portability for certain projects. Now I can port most of the code without any changes or minor changes (if I'm using older version of .Net), and that's a big step from having to rewrite all the code from scratch and using some king of toolkit or other libraries to get the same functionality. Especially on Linux.

That could not only mean a unified programming foundation on Windows, but potentially on every platform. Just write the code once, and then just recompile for the given platform (and this could be done on the same machine without the need to use different OSes and different IDEs).

But really, foss advocates are always there to destroy everything that could have improved even slightly the life of many, just to defend some fucked up ideals, or worst to feel part of some sort of elitist group. It's like Mono would infect Linux rather than help it become a viable platform.

We are not against what Linux could be, we are against what Linux has become, and how the community is destroying it. Do you really want to sacrifice productivity and usability for some stupid ideals, and then give this crap to everyone?

Well by not too much. If you are comparing with the interpreted Java then yes. Don't even bring up the GC bullshit. Memory allocation is much faster in Java for that.

Doesn't matter how fast C theoretically is when GCC just abstracts it to a nonexistent platform (hey, just like Java!) before compiling it with the worst optimizations possible. But, hey, if we didn't still support the 386 then we'd be evil profiteers in the pockets of monopolist Intel. SIMD is EVIL!

Anonymous said...

"Isn't Linux supposed to be the programmer's system?"

Nah. At first people were saying that, because you get shitty GCC with it at no extra charge.

Except now every OS has that. There's countless free compilers out there for every platform.

Even on the Windows side, the .NET framework ships with some, the VS express eds are free and so on. Much higher quality tools overall as well (not shit that seems to be straight out of the 70's) with way more advanced features, great languages like C#, revolutionary stuff like WPF Linux will never see, and it's also always getting new stuff that's usually great.

Developing for Linux feels like going back to the old "Turbo" series stuff by Borland, back in the DOS days. Yuck. Linux dev tools are probably a worse failure than Linux itself. No wonder nobody writes shit for it, and even when experts from large companies bother (e.g. Adobe or Google) then Lintards whine it doesn't work on their piece of shit OS as making a great app for Linsux is nothing short of impossible, even for gurus (yet the Windows version works 100% as always)

Linux is just the platform for mentally ill suckers who don't value their time and want to see MS dead (not that it'll happen in their lifetime)

Ubuntu is SO INTUITIVE

Wow, after only 30 hours of fucking around with Xrandr and that stupid Gnome screen resolution thing, getting my dual monitors to work is as simple as:

xrandr --output DVI-0 --mode 1280x1024 --pos 0x0 --output VGA-0 --mode 1280x1024 --pos 1280x0; xrandr --output DVI-0 --mode 1600x1200 --pos 0x0 --output VGA-0 --mode 1600x1200 --pos 1600x0

Then all I have to do is drag a panel across to the new desktop and it JustWorks(tm) ... unless I want to use Compiz.

Ok, so in Ubuntu it takes 30 hours and in Windows 2000 upwards it takes 30 seconds, but I don't think anyone could say Linux isn't ready for the desktop based on this. Like RTFM, right?

Anonymous said...

Developing for Linux feels like going back to the old "Turbo" series stuff by Borland

1. .NET's initial release was in 2000. The only way Mono could be 10 years behind would be if it barely had any of the .NET 1.0 functions. (Or if the WINE team was developing it.)

Great idea! We'll have volunteers build monitor factories that make monitors with open hardware designs. That way you can always build your own monitor if you want which makes them ethically superior.

For all you naysayers who think that volunteers won't build enough monitors, we'll just have a tax on proprietary monitors to make up the difference. We'll have a Department of Monitors (DOM) to tax and distribute the funds. By doing this we will have a greater level of Freedom that Stallman has defined for us. "We are not against what Linux could be, we are against what Linux has become, and how the community is destroying it. Do you really want to sacrifice productivity and usability for some stupid ideals, and then give this crap to everyone?"

There you nailed it. The amount of ignorance, pretentiousness and self-righteousness spread by a good part of the 'linux community' (whatever that is) when refering to what they somehow identify as 'the enemies' has no limits. Its only parallel is the self-deceit, zealotry and plain blindness shown when trying to justify (impose) their choice. Notice how 'choice', in this context, is more of an orwellian term than a real word, for it has nothing to do with its conventional meaning.

Nowadays is impossible to disagree about anything regarding the mainstream 'linux philosophy' without getting slashed by a crowd of fanatics who, for the most part, lack the most basic analysis and critical thinking skills. Once and again the same old chords are played in the hope that repetition ad nauseum will somehow suceed in the absence of arguments. Surely they suceed, but at making me question the sanity of my own choices when I see myself in the same boat as these fundamentalists.

As for what it has become, I can't help but seeing the same patterns over and over since I use this platform. Dozens of new packages replicating (and reinventing) existing functionality prop up like a cancer each week, doomed to be forgotten in some miserable SF hole. Old packages, even if once useful, get broken with the constant introduction of new 'features' in the underlying system they depend on--when they are not simply abandoned because the original developers moved on to something else. On another plane, the sole mention of making steps to bring the usefulness and usability of commercial software is perceived as an attack to some abstract values that usually only hide the 'free as in cheap' way of thinking of these individuals.

"Why do you hate freedom?"

First off, 'freedom' is too big a word for the issues discussed here. I reserve it for far more serious topics that really deserve its use. And that without mentioning the bastardised meaning the free software people utilize. This is another interesting term, if you ask me, where 'freedom' comes to represent some higher moral ground idea used as a weapon against other opinions, avoiding the need to use real arguments.

Leaving this aside, I don't know how you reached that conclusion. Nobody hates 'freedom' anymore than nobody hates 'peace'; only that everybody holds particular views about what 'freedom' or 'peace' should consist in. Even the worst and bloodiest dictators seek peace, but in their own terms. For (some of) the OSS crowd, 'freedom' means using open source software of some sort--and only of that sort (*)--whereas for some of us it's more around the lines of being able to use whatever is found fit for purpose, irrespective of what company, license or individuals are behind it.

That I enjoy using using, say, mplayer or firefox, doesn't preclude me from seeing the amount of low quality software surrounding the linux ecosystem, or the close mind with which some issues are faced. It only takes an introductory course in honesty to realize that there are serious problems with linux and linux applications. Some of them could perhaps be solved by playing a different (and actually more open) game, encouraging 3rd parties to have a go at the cake. This is not the path being followed and probably will never be, since the 'freedom' definition of yours is set to stone and other views are dismissed as attacks to it. The circle is closed, the story goes on.

(*) See the license wars for a shameful example of this issue.

See, with Microsoft, you have this dildo up your ass lockin, but if you go Loonix, it's just a "prosthetic penile extrusion within your anal hole cavity" and it's much much better that way, now that I explained the differences.

I've been reading a lot of the comments on this blog (I'm bored). I'm having trouble actually believing that you people actually believe the shit you say.

I propose the theory that all of the hatertards here actually love Linux, but are sarcastically hating Linux in retarded ways in order to discredit Linux hatred.

So Linux Hater links his incredibly lame blog to some other retard's lame blog full of a bunch of retarded conjecture about "benchmarks" with no supporting cites, etc. because tard boy is singing a tune he wants to hear!

*Of course* this fucking dorkstein is a C# fanboi!

Also - WTF does this or the last "entry" in this fucktard blog have to do with "Linux on the desktop"?!

"Mono on Linux is such a waste of good effort. The Mono developers should join up with the .NET staff at Microsoft and make the native framework even better."

Maybe the fact that .NET is about as popular with clients as a hot curling iron up the ass explains why a bunch of chimps in pants ported it! I mean, why the fuck else, right? Reminds me of the dexters who managed to get Linux to run on an X-Box! Morons

Diplomacy doesn't exist in the linux land

Linux is about as useful as a kick in the pants, which is what freetards get when they do dare to venture outside their basements and drool over the old lady living next door

Freetards are a funny bunch. They like to call non-freetards "HaterTards", whereas they're the ones hating the most, by a long shot!

Those who they claim to be HaterTards only happen hate the horrible mess Linux truly is (you can't blame someone for hating that abortion either). Those people don't seem to have other complaints about anything else and seem generally happy with life.

Yet, Freetards:
-hate Windows
-hate non-open source stuff
-hate commercial software
-hate Microsoft
-hate Ballmer
-hate mono
-hate not having the choice of 150 sucky solutions (over one standard option that actually works)
-hate how businesses actually make money by charging for products and services
-hate people who rightly criticize their piece of shit OS
-hate hardware manufacturers who don't bend backwards for one percent extra potential sales
-hate manufacturers who release drivers for it anyways and even release full specs (not good enough!)
-hate companies who even bother to make software for their shit platform like Adobe or Google
-hate people who ask questions on how to to totally unintuitive things on their crap OS (RTFM n00b!)
-hate hardware and protocol manufacturers of all kinds (blaming everybody for everything, from ACPI to GDI Printers and god knows what else)
-hate every format out there (mp3? evil patents, use ogg shit! [insert virtually any video format]? evil drm!! WMV? evil M$! OOXML? evil! ...)
-hate that some "normal" people can develop simple applications using tools like VB
-hate binaries-only stuff
-hate any software that's designed to run on anything more than a 1993' Pentium 66 (bloat! planned obsolescence!)
-hate not getting everything for free (some kind of sense of entitlement)
-hate any tech that can be related to MS in any way
...

We could go on forever. It's all hate, hate, hate, hate. Hate is what they do. They truly are the REAL HaterTards.

In fact, you have to hate yourself to willingly use Linux. It's like self-torture. A profound mental disorder seems to be a requirement to be a part of that religion of theirs, and the posts made by most freetards seem to prove that.

Lintard = HaterTard.

Yeah. They also hate the Xbox, Zune, Silverlight, iPhone (DRM!), Blu-Ray, content publishers, game studios, Adobe, ...

Yep. They're the real haters for sure. Linux should ship with an anger management app, but they'd probably hate that too.

What's this idiotic hate towards C++? Morons claim C++ should only be used for HPC and embedded devices. But just look at browsers. IE8, Chrome, Safari are competing fiercely in terms of speed and memory footprint. If someone fancy a browser written in .NET or JAVA, there is zero chance of getting into the market. And don't even mention games. The GC thing is also bullshit. If you use smart pointers (available in Boost Library) instead of normal pointers, and STL containers instead of arrays, there is absolutely no need for any memory management, to the point you can forget the keywords "delete" and "free". There's also the claim that C++ is too complicated to learn. Fair enough if you are an amateur programmer, but if you program professionally, you should be fired.

"We are not against what Linux could be, we are against what Linux has become"

Hence the original point of this blog.

It's easy for a diehard windows user to occasionally use Linux for certain purposes, for certain things, and understand what it can and can't do.

However a diehard linux user won't use anything else, not even better 'nix systems like BSD/Solaris. They just hate for hate's sake. And think Linux can do everything better, no matter the obvious.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, that's the way! Port whatever for the sake of being "free" to... brainfucker?

The people who assume hatred of Linux implies love of MS are amusing. I have no doubt that 99% of the haters on this blog would switch to a free OS if it had the stability, feature-set and third party support of Windows/OS X, and hell, if it did something else that was new and amazing and pulled shit off in some hitherto unforseen way, it'd be icing on the cake.

Linux kind of doesn't have that though, and at the rate it's going, it never will. Hell, they're crucifying some poor bastard for daring to implement a language that comes from Microsoft, despite the advantages and proven test cases it has in the field. The Linux community, seemingly, would rather rut about in the mud with 20 year old ideals than embrace new ones, and this is, ultimately, what's hurting them. Progress? Who needs that. Let's make another new half-baked audio stack insteading of fixing and refining an old one (thus freeing us up to work on the next problem), and call it a day. Stability? You don't need that, RTFM n00b, Linux is for t3h hardcorez, not MS fags!

This attitude might not kill Linux, but it's not gonna grow it either. They only 'progress' when they realise OS X or Windows has implemented something new and they realise they're suddenly stuck about six years behind tech wise and have to catch up so they're back to mediocre, instead of outdated. And then they fuck it up with forks and internal politics and laziness and This Isn't Fun To Code syndrome, anyway, so you get half-baked mediocre and GroupThink tells everyone that this is okay. This is how things are in this neck of the woods.

A shame. A free OS, if it delivered half of way Linux promises, could be pretty great.

Yeah, that's really better than click-click in windows, cunt.

I bet this chick just happens to have some annoying nerd boyfriend that forces her to record these videos or else he posts naked pictures of her on ubuntuforums. No doubt she doesn't even has the slightest idea of what she's reading from the script he gave to her.
