«Oldest ‹Older 4801 – 5000 of 5000 Newer› Newest»I think you went overboard listing his talents.
LOL, they're not talents, they're facts. He writes about tech. Fact, not talent. He refutes the tech press. Fact, not talent. He plays devil's advocate to people like mac fans. Fact, not talent. He calls bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash. Fact, not talent.
When he announced he was anon a few posts back.
Jerkface posted as an anon?
How does that make him a whistleblower?
LOL, they're not talents
When was he a whisteblower?
But he's nothing special. Just another average blogger.
I never said he was anything but "meh". He's usually a decent read, that's it. That's all he's supposed to be. All I said was his focus hasn't changed much; He wasn't the anti-Linux crusader you claim he once was.
You see a sellout, I see business as usual. Nothing more, nothing less.
When was he a whisteblower?
When was he a whisteblower?
The Linux malware and virus posts are decent examples. He posted a link to a recent Linux malware discovery that Slashdot and ZDNet buried.
Keep in mind, whistle-blowing is not a talent (in the metaphorical sense).
And since you're hung up on this point, how about explaining away all the other "talents that are actually facts".
He wasn't the anti-Linux crusader you claim he once was
His early posts were anti-GPL.
But he changed his focus to be more main-stream when he changed to binplay.
He posted a link to a recent Linux malware discovery that Slashdot and ZDNet buried.
That's not being a whistleblower.
It's called posting a link that slashdot/zdnet haven't posted on their sites.
Keep in mind, whistle-blowing is not a talent
You should check the definition.
That's not being a whistleblower.
It's called posting a link that slashdot/zdnet haven't posted on their sites.
Play the symantics game. He brought a threat to light when every other pro-Linux organization were burying.
The link WAS posted on their respective sites and both the pro-Linux tech press and slashdot commenters played it down. Slashdot even tried to bury it with downvotes.
He writes about tech.
He writes about random crap.
He plays devil's advocate to people like mac fans.
He hates on Mac fans. Different to playing devil's advocate.
Comparing them to brainwashed big-brother subjects is just plain hating.
He calls bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash
To you, perhaps. To me, he's writing bullshit in defence of Flash.
Play the symantics game. He brought a threat to light when every other pro-Linux organization were burying.
He is not a whistleblower. Jerkface was linking to someone else's discovery.
Whistleblowing has a very clear definition. What he did was not it.
He writes about random crap.
Other than the baseball post, what comes to mind? I guess if a tech blogger writes the occasional post about anything other than tech, they're mainstream and selling out?
He hates on Mac fans. Different to playing devil's advocate.
Comparing them to brainwashed big-brother subjects is just plain hating.
He did the same thing with Linux fans and distro junkies. But that was okay. Because they're losers in their basements rather than losers in Starbucks.
There are zealots in all camps and they're all fair game. This from someone who owns a macbook and argued against some of his claims. So far, my comments have escaped his wrath!
He is not a whistleblower. Jerkface was linking to someone else's discovery.
Whistleblowing has a very clear definition. What he did was not it.
Okay, let's look up the definition:
"whistle blower: an informant who exposes wrongdoing within an organization in the hope of stopping it;"
Interesting. So when both a ZDNet author and slashdot commenters are trying to downplay a security threat rather than inform the public, that's not wrongdoing? Jerkface calling them out by posting the link and buried comments isn't being an informant? Does he not want it to stop?
Is ZDNet an organization? Why yes, it is. Is Slashdot an organization? Yes.
Did they both commit acts of wrongdoing by downplaying the threat rather than trying to warn users? Yes.
So when both a ZDNet author and slashdot commenters are trying to downplay a security threat rather than inform the public, that's not wrongdoing?
Does he work at ZDNet or Slashdot, and reveal from the inside the policy of supressing the threat? No he did not.
He discovered nothing new. He was not exposing a threat. He was linking to someone else exposing a threat.
Now your trying to make him out as some hero, which is kinda sad.
A whistle blower has to come from within an organisation. That's the whole point.
Is ZDNet an organization? Why yes, it is. Is Slashdot an organization? Yes.
Is Jerkface within either of these organizations?
Does he work at ZDNet or Slashdot, and reveal from the inside the policy of supressing the threat? No he did not.
Remember when you said it has a "very specific definition"? Being an employee or working inside the organization is not part of that definition. Just having knowledge of misconduct and bringing it to light classifies someone as a whistle-blower if other organizations are trying to suppress it.
misconduct and bringing it to light classifies someone as a whistle-blower if other organizations are trying to suppress it.
What misconduct?
Jerkface is no different from any other visitor to zdnet or slashdot.
How would he know about misconduct that any other vistor wouldn't know?
trying to suppress it.
Get real.
A story is not 'suppressed' just because it gets downvoted.
A story is not 'suppressed' just because it gets downvoted.
ZDNet actually claimed it wasn't a threat, saying nobody need worry since it would be fixed by the the basement developer army.
Jerkface called them out for pushing their agenda over public safety. Split hairs all you want, its whistle blowing.
(Right about now you can start claiming that I must really admire him for being such an awesome and courageous person or something.)
He called them out. Fine.
But what wrongdoing did he expose to the public?
But what wrongdoing did he expose to the public?
The actual suppression of the threat. Lying to the public about something potentially dangerous is doing something wrong.
The fact that the danger existed is inconsequential. It's how the danger was handled that he blew the whistle on.
Right about now you can start claiming that I must really admire him
Your obviously unfamilar with the term.
The actual suppression of the threat. Lying to the public about something potentially dangerous is doing something wrong.
How did ZDNet supress the threat!?
ZDNet may have downplayed the threat, different to supressing it.
And ZDNet was far from the only source of the story.
Lying to the public about something potentially dangerous is doing something wrong.
How do you know they were lying, and not expressing an opinion?
It's how the danger was handled that he blew the whistle on.
What do you mean 'how the danger was handled'?
Being an employee or working inside the organization is not part of that definition. Just having knowledge of misconduct and bringing it to light classifies someone as a whistle-blower if other organizations are trying to suppress it.
In your mind only. from legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Whistleblowing:
The disclosure by a person, usually an employee in a government agency or private enterprise, to the public or to those in authority, of mismanagement, corruption, illegality, or some other wrongdoing.
down voting articles isn't mismanagement, corruption, illegal, or even close to be considered wrong doing.
You are grasping at straws to support your poorly phrased argument.
How do you know they were lying, and not expressing an opinion?
Because it was in the security section of ZDNet, but it read like the threat wasn't a threat at all.
A lot of "Linux is inherently secure" rhetoric, downplaying and a "users should have nothing to worry about" capstone.
Meanwhile, similar Microsoft threats are treated like they're teetering on the edge of apocalypse.
What post is TM Repo even referring to?
Sounds like he called Jerkface a whistleblower without realizing what it means and now grasps at straws..
Because it was in the security section of ZDNet, but it read like the threat wasn't a threat at all.
Do you have links to what you're talking about?
A lot of "Linux is inherently secure" rhetoric, downplaying and a "users should have nothing to worry about" capstone.
Meanwhile, similar Microsoft threats are treated like they're teetering on the edge of apocalypse.
Jerkface wasn't exactly the first person to realize this..
Do you have links to what you're talking about?
Here is the most recent one about the zero-day firefox exploit. And once again, ignored by slashdot with an IE exploit in its place.
He did the same thing with Linux fans and distro junkies. But that was okay. Because they're losers in their basements rather than losers in Starbucks.
Yeah well you're not playing devil's advocate if you're genuinely opposed to the thing you're arguing.
Death to jerkface! Grrrr...
(five years later)
... rrrrrrgh! Damn you to hell!
Jerkface wasn't exactly the first person to realize this..
I never said he was. He's just calling bullshit on Slashdot and ZDNet.
You're spinning your wheels here. Character attacks didn't work so now it's just semantic spam.
Slashdot not reporting on zero-day exploits is NOT THE SAME as Slashdot supressing information on zero-day exploits.
The exploits were out there on Bugtraq and such. Slashdot not reporting them is NOT THE SAME as Slashdot supressing them.
Did NBC report these zero-day exploits? No? Then do you think they are supressing them? If I write a blog calling out NBC, to I become a whistleblower?
That answer is NO
He hates on Mac fans.
Jerkface hates on Mac fans? Poor them!
To me, he's writing bullshit in defence of Flash.
Still trying to get over the fact that your piece of crap iPad can't even do Flash?
Yeah well you're not playing devil's advocate if you're genuinely opposed to the thing you're arguing.
What's your point? Even if I was misusing the term it doesn't change the fact that everything I listed was part of a synopsis and not an "advertisement of awesomeness".
Do you think that if you keep posting pointless details the comment history will magically disappear?
Jerkface wasn't exactly the first person to realize this..
Stop the presses - Jerkface wasn't exactly the first person to take notice of Linux loon rhetoric!
In other news - Anonymous was not the first person to post knee-jerk criticism on the Internet!
You're spinning your wheels here. Character attacks didn't work so now it's just semantic spam.
Nope, its just people calling bullshit on your argument. We're all "whistleblowers" just to bastardize your bastardization of the term.
Nope, its just people calling bullshit on your argument. We're all "whistleblowers" just to bastardize your bastardization of the term.
What argument? You're splitting hairs over the exact definition of whistleblower. You're arguing the semantics, not the facts. Why? Because you've got no rebuttal to the facts. You're trying, in vain, to use distraction in the hopes that I'll somehow forget the original argument.
1) Jerkface does tech posts.
2) He refutes tech press.
2) He has always done these.
Whether the use of the term "whistleblower" satisfies your definition of the word is irrelevant.
In other news - Anonymous was not the first person to post knee-jerk criticism on the Internet!
In other news JoeMonco just freebased an 8-ball and ate his neighbors lhasa apso pup.
Don't like Jerkface? Then brace yourself for this stunningly elegant solution:
- Read something else.
Saves you yelling about the same old crap for months on end.
TM Repository said:
One part devil's advocate, one part whistle-blower. He calls bullshit on any tech articles he finds; Linux, Mac and even Windows.
It Slices! It Dices! It Cleans Up After Itself!
What have you got for us today JoeMonco?
A two line snark? A wikipedia link perhaps?
What argument?
Your argument that Jerkface is a whistleblower. Jeeze
1) Jerkface does tech posts.
2) He refutes tech press.
2) He has always done these.
Well whoopdey freakin' do! Do any of those justify the time you've spent feeding the trolls tonight?
Of course not.
Whether the use of the term "whistleblower" satisfies your definition of the word is irrelevant.
Nonsense. it is entirely relevant that you are misusing terminology in a diabolical use of bad arguments used to feed trolls.
So TM Repository has spent the last 200 comments insisting that jerkface is meh..
"One part devil's advocate, one part whistle-blower. He calls bullshit on any tech articles he finds; Linux, Mac and even Windows."
Are those facts or talents?
1) He has played devil's advocate; just because the virus article has him actually taking the side he believes in doesn't mean its the only article he wrote.
2) He's been a whistleblower. The problem is, your personal definition of what that is doesn't compute.
3) He's called bullshit on tech articles of all sorts.
How has this changed since he first started? all these same facts still apply.
So TM Repository has spent the last 200 comments insisting that jerkface is meh..
Crack will do that.
He's been a whistleblower.
Well no he hasn't.
Check out whistle-blower resources online sometime. How might learn something.
Erm, what tech blogger hasn't done these things?
So TM Repository has spent the last 200 comments insisting that jerkface is meh
Yup, pretty much. Business as usual was the argument from the beginning.
It's entertainment; something to read. I'm not some butthurt-fan-turned-troll who's whining that jerkface sold out. "You used to be COOL, Jerkface! Whaa".
Erm, what tech blogger hasn't done these things?
<Using TM Repos own personal misdefinition of whistle-blowing, of course)
You used to be COOL, Jerkface!
Who said that?
Some mythical anon
Erm, what tech blogger hasn't done these things?
Erm, what's your point? Hasn't the "jerkface isn't special" point been beaten to death yet?
The point has always been that jerkface did this when he started, and he hasn't changed. All that's changed is fanboy's perception that's been clouded by nostalgia.
He misses the good old days when Jerkface used to write articles slamming the tech press and calling them on their bullshit...oh wait.
Whenever you point out that jerkface has done douchey things, TM Repo leaps to his defense!
What have you got for us today JoeMonco?
A two line snark? A wikipedia link perhaps?
Nothing. Why, should I start ranting about some blogger on the Internet until I drop dead?
Two line snark it is!
So TM Repo, you deny that JF changed direction when he went from JFPlayhouse to binplay?
Two line snark it is!
And dead on at that, mind you.
Using TM Repos own personal misdefinition of whistle-blowing, of course
Right, which I got from the dictionary:
"whistle blower: an informant who exposes wrongdoing within an organization in the hope of stopping it;"
"Whistleblowers may make their allegations internally (for example, to other people within the accused organization) or externally (to regulators, law enforcement agencies, to the media or to groups concerned with the issues)."
Erin Brockovich is an example of an external whistleblower. In case you were still skeptical of the definition.
So Jerkface is like Erin Brockovich.
Gotcha.
And the wrongdoing: Posting on his blog that in his opinion a ZDNet author and slashdot commenters are trying to downplay a security threat.
Not exactly the same as exposing wrongdoing, is it?
It's a fiendishly clever plot.
So Jerkface is like Erin Brockovich?
I think that's kind of a matter of taste. Like Mac. Or some other forms of self-mutilation.
So TM Repo, you deny that JF changed direction when he went from JFPlayhouse to binplay?
I recall him mentioning he was going to change direction, but it's been more of the same. I guess because he's written a few articles about piracy and Xbox that he must have sold out and be totally mainstream, right?
So if he talks about smartphones is that no longer tech? What about tablets, not tech either? What about Netflix, is that not tech because my dad can use it?!
We need to set some strict guidelines on what random people consider relevant content for Jerkface to be posting!!!
Another two line snark! Surely the wikipedia link must be soon!
So Jerkface is like Erin Brockovich?
LOL. I was going to remark that you shouldn't get the two confused, but I removed it. Guess I should have left it in.
Both were concerned with public safety in one way or another and neither worked for the perpetrating organization.
I'd like to know why TM Repository insists on answering every criticism of Jerkface posted to this blog.
Why is it so TM Repository?
And the wrongdoing: Posting on his blog that in his opinion a ZDNet author and slashdot commenters are trying to downplay a security threat.
So a linux enthusiast site and a linux security blog posting an IE threat but burying a Linux threat is open to interpretation? You're fucking desperate.
Both were concerned with public safety in one way or another and neither worked for the perpetrating organization.
What did JF reveal? He expressed an opinion about ZDNet and slashdot.
Very different to actually discovering something being covered up..
Why is it so TM Repository?M
Already answered that. Because I felt like taking the troll bait that Bitter Jerkface Fanboy dropped.
Another two line snark! Surely the wikipedia link must be soon!
Why not?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPad#Reviews
"After its UK release the Telegraph said the iPad's lack of Adobe Flash support was 'annoying.'"
I prefer the term "female circumcision" a bit more, to be honest.
Already answered that. Because I felt like taking the troll bait that Bitter Jerkface Fanboy dropped.
Because you like being trolled?
Are you really that lonely?
Maybe you should get a job and be around people.
What did JF reveal? He expressed an opinion about ZDNet and slashdot.
Very different to actually discovering something being covered up.
Not true. If a friend helps you cover up a murder they're an accessory to it. It's still a cover up and they're still responsible.
Just because it wasn't Firefox covering up the exploit doesn't mean that Slashdot and ZDNet are off the hook. They're spreading dangerous misinformation that could result directly in damages.
It's one thing to have a broken staircase in your house, it's quite the other to put a sign that says "staircase is fine, jump up and down on them".
They're spreading dangerous misinformation that could result directly in damages.
Where's your proof?
Oh that's right, you're talking out you're ass.
Just because it wasn't Firefox covering up the exploit doesn't mean that Slashdot and ZDNet are off the hook. They're spreading dangerous misinformation that could result directly in damages.
Bullshit. Firefox has auto-update on the platforms that matter. And the platforms that don't matter have suppositories that get checked automatically daily.
Care to try again?
Because you like being trolled
LHB brah! We feed the trolls. (we argue fact with them until they start doing their death rattle, talking in circles).
Are you really that lonely?
Says the troll.
Maybe you should get a job and be around people.
You're right, why be productive when I can be distracted every 5 minutes with watercooler chatter. Sounds awesome. I can probably simulate it by starting a daycare in my living room. Man, I'm glad you taught me how to be social. By the way, can you spare a dollar, I'm broke now. Idiot.
Bullshit. Firefox has auto-update on the platforms that matter. And the platforms that don't matter have suppositories that get checked automatically daily.
The exploit wasn't fix that quickly, goofball. All the auto-updating in the internet won't do you any good if there's no actual patch to send.
Try again.
And the platforms that don't matter have suppositories that get checked automatically daily.
You mean like CentOS?
You're right, why be productive when I can be distracted every 5 minutes with watercooler chatter.
LOL looking through the last 300 comments, you're clearly being distracted by LHB every couple minutes.
Where's your proof?
Oh that's right, you're talking out you're ass.
I sent you the link. I know reading is tough.
Well thank the flying spaghetti monster that jerkface told us all about it...
They're spreading dangerous misinformation that could result directly in damages.
Nothing suggests that it's misinformation, and no mention of damages.
Try again.
You mean like CentOS?
Don't be an ungrateful bastard, Joe, take the free software I make by following the licensing requirements and be happy with it.
WOW TM repository has sunk to a new all time low..
Just a quick summary of facts Bitter Jerkface Fanboy has gleaned:
- Jerkface sold out and is rich from blog traffic alone
- his focus has changed from tech writing to tech writing
- one article off topic (baseball) cancels out all your other writing
- every week at least 3 posts are made on LHB proclaiming how awesome jerkface is
- making a synopsis is tantamount to gushing praise
- whistleblowing is NOT informing the public of an organization's wrongdoing
- Jerkface is Erin Brockovich
- Mac hate is bad, but Linux hate is acceptable
- people go to work to socialize
- working during the night means you have Aspergers
- facts are actually talents
- talking in circles wins arguments
And your point is..?
You like being trolling?
You like being trolling?
Like is the wrong word. I welcome a voice of dissent. Too bad they can never back shit up.
Srsly TM, I respected you for making the repository, but looking at the last couple pages.. you are turning a litle strange..
WOW TM repository has sunk to a new all time low..
LAUNCH MORE CHARACTER ATTACKS!!1
Srsly TM, I respected you for making the repository, but looking at the last couple pages.. you are turning a litle strange
First jerkface, now me? But the whole point of the TM Repository was to garner respect from people I've never met. That, and mad AdSense cash.
You think it's strange that I'd spend time refuting a whining butthurt fanboy after building an entire site dedicated to the same practice?
You still think that all anonymous posts are the same person, eh?
You still think that all anonymous posts are the same person, eh?
well "double dot" sure is.. Ending all sentences with..
Nemo Documents

is kind of like Gnome Zeitgeist, but for Windows
well "double dot" sure is.. Ending all sentences with..
and all anons come in waves every three hours!
@May 29, 2011 1:48 AM:
I'm curious, why do you think it matters? Why do I, or anyone for that matter, have to create a name so you can tell how many people you are arguing with?
Good question. And here's another one:
Why is Seven of Nine called Seven of Nine?
Borg me, baby!
and all anons come in waves every three hours!
I see what you tried to do there.
Joe Monco@May 29, 2011 4:58 AM:
And the platforms that don't matter have suppositories that get checked automatically daily.
You mean like CentOS?
To be scrupulously fair, the anonymous it did say "suppositories." Almost certainly insoluble ones, at that. ((c) Reginald Perrin.) Probably an elegant and refined not an anonymous troll whatsoever and how dare you call me that then.
By the way, where is this awesome Nametard community? I must've been out when they dropped the leaflet by.
OMFG, TMR is spending an incredible amount of time sucking his cock. Even whores don't stoop that low.
There's no way one would do so much to protect some random blogger "just because", or "being the devil's advocate".
$100 says it's really the same guy who has two accounts.
So which one is better: Windows, or Linux?
@May 29, 2011 7:01 AM:
$100 says it's really the same guy who has two accounts.
Make it a thousand and you're on. I could do with travel money to visit both of them. I mean, just the Toronto to Seattle bit would cost half of that.
Tell you what, I'm a reasonable sort of guy. I'll give you 100/1 odds.
You stand to gain $100,000! What could be more appetizing than that?
I hear a lot about Ubuntu these days. Is it any good?
But back to Linux and, specifically, CentOS:
The problem is, if we knew how to fix the particular problems that we have, then they would already be fixed.
Yes, you read that right.
(1) Collect a million eyes. (I wrote about this yesterday on my blog, you little twerp.)
(2) ???
(3) Problem is already fixed!
It's a miracle, this Linux thing. I don't know what I'd do without it.
Oh yes, that's it. That's the thing. ACTUALLY FIX BUGS!
Make it a thousand and you're on
Either:
-he's his lover (I ain't judging)
-it's the same person who uses 2 accounts
-he's being paid
-he's got serious mental issues
So which one is it? Nobody sane would spend that much time to defend a random blogger (especially one with such an incredibly shitty blog) to such great lengths. I mean, that's beyond whoring yourself...
Not that he has a point though. Pretty weak material all-around, refuting everything without any basis. And coming up with ludicrous theories in the process (3 years? LOL).
The only thing TMR has that's worth reading, is the user-submitted content on his site. Other than that, he's pretty fucking boring.
So which one is better: Windows, or Linux?
Linux.
Jerkface actually deleted one of my comments for calling a freetard a freetard. Fuck that dickhead.
TM Suppository is actually more pathetic then Jerkface. His entire deal was to somehow cash in on the Linux hate by creating an anti-Linux site with hipster-approved graphics and Web 2.0. Unlike Jerkface, he actively tries to spam every single anti-Linux place he can kind (oh did you know I added a new feature to my gay site? come check it out). Surely the AdSense money should be rolling in by now.
All he has managed to do with his site is attract Queefer and a handful of other nametards who do nothing but troll and counter-troll each other. Hell the only reason he probably didn't ban Queefer by now is because he knows he is a nametard honeypot that's keeping his site alive.
The CentOS community is great.
Don't complain about something you are being given for free (you ungrateful bastards) but we don't want to give you a donation button either.
Windows:
1) Select Printer Properties
2) Select A4
(although in my experience a United Kingdom locale and printers defaults to this anyway)
Linux:
1) Try a bunch of shit that doesn't work
2) Put an ugly hack that might break stuff into some obscure settings file
Why is my Ubuntu installation becoming more and more unstable and taking longer and longer to boot?
dmesg is full of segfaults in Nautilus.
Can't you ungrateful bastard take the free software Canonical make by following the licensing requirements and be happy with that?
Holy crap, TM literally spent the entire night defending jerkface? I guess doing that is why he earnestly believes it was one (and only one) dude that stuck with him for eight hours.
Eight hours of pure cock sucking. He looks like a natural! Or is it that he enjoys it that much?
So which one is better: Linux, or cow dung?
Cow dung.
@May 29, 2011 9:18 AM:
If you think that's bad, try getting Intel onboard audio working... And should you use the digital sound output, then you're not done yet!
I want to find a GF that would suck my cock as much as TMR did, without even being asked!
Why does Anonymous keep talking to himself?
I want to find a GF that would suck my cock as much as TMR did, without even being asked!
Sorry, TMR is taken.
Maybe it's because I need sleep. Commenting 24 hours a day takes it out of me.
CAPTCHA: dembacid. What I'm taking to stay up. Fuck my heart's racing.
Stallman declines to speak in Israeli Universities because the Palestinians force him not to. So much for "freedom of speech". Right?
http://hamakor.org.il/pipermail/discussions/2011-May/002978.html

Right ...
So I can go, and cancel these

I think it is best if I go, and give the speeches they originally
invited me to give.

Edward sums it up quite nicely:
"You chose the "Free beer" giving up the "Free of speech" and that disappoints me very much since it has to do with the genuinity implementation of your own presented ideas."
Translation: I will take the free holiday thank you.
What's wrong with that?
@May 29, 2011 12:13 PM:
What's wrong with that?
There's a song by Jello Biafra that makes the point quite nicely, I think.
Alternatively, you could just read the post above yours.
An attention span is a terrible thing to waste.
Stallman declines to speak in Israeli Universities because the Palestinians force him not to.
Way to shoot yourself in the foot Hamas. This kind of "boycott" can only be good for the Israeli people.
An attention span is a terrible thing to waste.
"Jersey Shore" does that.
The problem is, if we knew how to fix the particular problems that we have, then they would already be fixed.
Yes, you read that right.

Except the community in CentOS is only allowed to support each other, not help in the rebuild process.
You are off the mark in this criticism, Loser.
Which is amusing considering that CentOS is bad enough that you don't need to take things out of context to make them look bad, you silly twit.
High five Joe! Us "namers" have to stick together. When you're a celebrity and raking in those AdSense dollars you've gotta know who your friends are. Amiright?
Or you could just admit you're a big fan of JerkFace(TM) and that your comments were reflecting this.
Meh.
I like how obsessed this guy is over AdSense. Someone throws out that maybe possibly Jerkface is attempting to expand his audience and maybe possibly attempting to monetize it (or some other "secret" blog) and TM has an aneurysm and spews diarrhea. Like the idea of monetizing a blog is so controversial. Even Linux Hater tried to do it.
I like how obsessed he is with the idea that only one person argues with him.
OMFG, TMR is spending an incredible amount of time sucking his cock. Even whores don't stoop that low.
You haven't been on LHB that long then, have you? Every few months a new batch of anon trolls show up here to do some phishing. "HTML vs CSS guy", "Eugenics Guy", etc. We feed them all, letting them paint themselves into a corner with their bullshit arguments.
There's no way one would do so much to protect some random blogger "just because", or "being the devil's advocate".
Except that I wasn't protecting anyone. I was just pulling apart the whinings of a butthurt jerkface fan who's heartbroken thinking jerkface has apparently sold out.
$100 says it's really the same guy who has two accounts.
I already made that joke. That's what the AdSense remarks were all about. I kept referring to myself as the "silent partner" that was mentioned earlier. Keep up.
Whatever happened to the "Jerkface is laying a trap" guy? Supposedly jumping the shark was some grand reverse-reverse-reverse-reverse-reverse-troll scheme that would culminate in a massive 1-2 punch to the GPL that would make computers explode as if Captain Kirk outwitted them at logic.
I like how obsessed he is with the idea that only one person argues with him.
One person that doesn't need sleep and has nothing to do besides post on LHB every two minutes 24/7.
I like how obsessed he is with the idea that only one person argues with him.
Yeah, "obsessed". Remarking about something more than once is a clear sign of obsession. Idiot.
"I like how obsessed he is about X", weakest trolling ever. Does anyone else miss the real trolls that used to come here? Bring back Blackbelt Jones.
Does anyone else miss the real trolls that used to come here? Bring back Blackbelt Jones.
We don't need new trolls, we have you, Loser, and Joe. Fuckwit.
We don't need new trolls, we have you, Loser, and Joe. Fuckwit.
Yeah, twist those words. I said I missed the old trolls. Ever heard of irony? Whining about how things have changed, getting all nostalgic. Remind you of anybody?
He calls bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash. Fact, not talent.
Speaking of "calling bullshit", that's not fact, that's opinion. "Calling bullshit" on a technology is an opinion.
You're so busted Suppository guy(TM).
If I choose Ubuntu, should I then go for long-term support, or will the regular edition do?
Remind you of anybody?
Reminds me of your 8 hour rant about how average jerkface is.
Another question. Can Windows 7 run comfortably on a notebook with 768MB RAM?
Speaking of "calling bullshit", that's not fact, that's opinion. "Calling bullshit" on a technology is an opinion.
Being able to quantify that flash still has a 99% install base across the web in spite of HTML5 adoption on all browsers is a fact. The death of Flash didn't happen like the loons or the Steve Jobs faithful predicted.
Do you have links to what you're talking about?
Reminds me of your 8 hour rant about how average jerkface is.
My responding to whining is actually a rant? I shot down arguments, I didn't go off on any tangents. All the while receiving nothing but character attacks, red herrings, ad hominems and strawmen. Is that what passes for a rant these days?
Do you have links to what you're talking about?
Already posted them several times.

Being able to quantify that flash still has a 99% install base across the web in spite of HTML5 adoption on all browsers is a fact..
We're not talking about quantifying "that flash still has a 99% install base", we're talking about quantifying your statement which was:
He calls bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash
For which the argument is calling bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash - not "has replaced" but "is" or "will replace" Flash. Nice try at shifting though.
The death of Flash didn't happen like the loons or the Steve Jobs faithful predicted
Nice shift again, subtle too. This might seem overly pedantic but this furthers my point (my premise) that you are backtracking on the fact that you're backing up Jerkface when you said you weren't as the other anons were painfully pointing out to you.
Linux Hater:
Just post the new token commentary and let us continue flaming in here for fuck sakes. We're not asking for much. Type the letter 'a' and press submit. Christ.
Hate to waste one of the last forty or so posts, but here I go.
@May 29, 2011 1:20 PM:
Except the community in CentOS is only allowed to support each other, not help in the rebuild process.
I see. There's arbitrary limits to this freedom thing now, are there?
You are off the mark in this criticism, Loser.
Doctor Loser to you. I have my professional pride.
Which is amusing considering that CentOS is bad enough that you don't need to take things out of context to make them look bad, you silly twit.
I didn't take it out of context. I fucking linked to it.
Piss all over me for whatever reason you feel necessary, but at least be honest for once in your shitty little life.
you are backtracking on the fact that you're backing up Jerkface when you said you weren't
To you, perhaps. To me, he's writing bullshit in defence of Flash.

This. Also, tl;dr. Maybe niggers.
But basically this.
Nice shift again, subtle too. This might seem overly pedantic but this furthers my point (my premise) that you are backtracking on the fact that you're backing up Jerkface when you said you weren't as the other anons were painfully pointing out to you.
Sure, when you can't attack the fact, attack the argument, or better yet, attack the character of the person you're arguing with.
You're desperately trying to insinuate that I've been rushing to his defense/singing praises/obsessing. Meanwhile, I'm not the one whining and protesting in another blog about how he's "sold out" and "went mainstream".
Saying Jerkface hasn't changed isn't really a defense. Because if you don't like him now, and he hasn't changed, then it means you didn't like him then either. By making him unpalatable to you is somehow defending him?
At this point you've totally lost track of your argument and you're hoping to distract. You claimed Jerkface sold out and went mainstream, meanwhile he's posting the same shit he always has but you're pretending to be butthurt.
I didn't take it out of context. I fucking linked to it.
Are you sure about that?
you wrote this: The problem is, if we knew how to fix the particular problems that we have, then they would already be fixed.
Yes, you read that right.
(1) Collect a million eyes. (I wrote about this yesterday on my blog, you little twerp.)
(2) ???
(3) Problem is already fixed!
while linking to a mail about the issues they are having with rebuilding RHEL 6, a process that is not open to any community involvement.
Taking said mail out of context by implying there is community involvement, when there is none.
Piss all over me for whatever reason you feel necessary, but at least be honest for once in your shitty little life.
The thing is, I don't have to piss on you, you do it to yourself. Honest enough for you?
Now go blog about it, you twit.
You see business as usual, I see a sellout. Nothing more, nothing less.
Taking said mail out of context by implying there is community involvement, when there is none.
Translation: "You don't know nothing about the community, wah!"
What would the world be without open-source loons clogging up usable space?
What have you got for us today JoeMonco? A two line snark? A wikipedia link perhaps?
Character attacks abound! It's trolling in 2011.
To be honest, I kind of do miss the classic trolls we used to get here. Maybe I'll go whine about it on another blog's comment section.
What have you got for us today JoeMonco? A two line snark? A wikipedia link perhaps?
You know you're a professional troll when you've got lame-ass jabs like these bound to macros. What does trolling pay these days?
Character attacks abound! It's trolling in 2011.
There are zealots in all camps and they're all fair game.

LHB brah! We feed the trolls. (we argue fact with them until they start doing their death rattle, talking in circles).
There are zealots in all camps and they're all fair game.
What does that have to do with character attacks, Adam?
professional troll
I prefer the term "sanctimonious twit having their pet cause ragged on by someone else".
What does that have to do with character attacks, Adam?
The best refute you guy can make is that it's the fault of some dude named adam??
calls bullshit on HTML5 replacing flash
That's up there with calling bullshit on the rapture last week.
-Only a small subset of the browsers currently used (and not only on desktops) support HTML5
-HTML can do video and has canvas, and even if that was supported well (it's not) that still wouldn't make it a flash equivalent, there's still lots of ground to cover, like sound
-There is nothing quite like Flash Pro to author non-flash content, and much less the training that goes with it, and having the mindshare too
-Flash is also useful for playing H.264 videos on browsers/platforms that don't support it natively
...
Only Ohio Ham would be stupid enough to think it could kill Flash.
Character attacks abound!
If you don't want your character being attacked stop being such a fuckwit.
The best refute you guy can make is that it's the fault of some dude named adam??
A year or so ago a notorious pro-FOSS troll named Adam King said that he was bored posting as a nametard and rather troll anonymously or something along those lines. From then on, anyone who is Anonymous is collectively known as Adam "Queefer" King. Even if he never actually posted anonymously, he has done so much damage to this place with that one comment then he could have ever done with just plain trolling. Because now no matter who you are, if you post anonymously and someone doesn't like you, you are the "queefer".
That's up there with calling bullshit on the rapture last week.

That's a good way to describe you, JoeMongoloid.
That's a good way to describe you, JoeMongoloid.
And what would my pet cause be, eh?
Or is this just another knee-jerk NoU(TM)?
Your own self-ego?
Reminds me of your 8 hour rant about how average jerkface is.

I love this attempt at reverse trolling Jerkface by claiming he sold out. Can't refute him? Don't feel like participating in the discussion? Then try to undermine his credibility instead. Genius.
I'd say he's right on topic considering he's always stated that he all about the tech industry in general. He never claimed to be some dedicated anti-Linux crusader.
20 hours later and still going strong!
At least we call all agree that Jerkface is just 'meh'.
Even when he's calling bullshit or whistleblowing, he's just 'meh'.
Ain't it so, TM repository?
And what would my pet cause be, eh?
Two line snarks and wikipedia links of course!
Well I hope TMR gets his shill check from Jerkface.
He sure has earnt it!
Wow, you really took offense when Jerkface deleted your trolling, didn't you?
Type the letter 'a' and press submit. Christ
LOL, that'd be hilarious. There'd be 200 complaints from people who forgot they had LHB on their RSS feeds.
If you don't want your character being attacked stop being such a fuckwit.
TM's the digital equivalent of the girl who strips naked, draws "fuck me" on herself with permanent marker, patrols frathouse row on Friday night, then complains she got raped.
Remind you of anybody?
Adam, maybe?
Now go blog about it, you twit.
He will, and you, do you have anything left ... eh, Adam?
What have you got for us today JoeMonco? A two line snark? A wikipedia link perhaps?

We’ve been through this Adam.
To quote Anonymous:
Seriously Adam? Is copy-pasta all you have left?
Not even the ability to post a witty reply?
You really have nothing left, do you?
At least we call all agree that Jerkface is just 'meh'.
Even when he's calling bullshit or whistleblowing, he's just 'meh'.

I never said otherwise. He's a decent read but nobody's "advertising his awesomeness 3 times a week".
Now JoeMonco is posting as anonymous. Great.
That's up there with calling bullshit on the rapture last week.
More like calling bullshit on the new york yankees winning the stanley cup
If you don't want your character being attacked stop being such a fuckwit.
I don't mind the character attacks, they're harmless and these ones are particularly desperate. I'm just pointing out that character attacks, red herrings, ad hominems and strawmen are all indications of a lost argument. Fallacies are the troll fallback.
I never said otherwise. He's a decent read but nobody's "advertising his awesomeness 3 times a week".
Except you.
You keep rushing to his defense anytime someone says something bad about him.
Have a browse thru the last ~400 comments if you don't believe me.
I'm just pointing out that character attacks, red herrings, ad hominems and strawmen are all indications of a lost argument
What argument are they making, and losing?
Right. The most annoying nametards have now been handed their asses, except for the good Doctor Loser. I have a special gift for him, but I want him to be sober when it gets delivered. See you tomorrow for another groundhog day on LHB.
More like calling bullshit on the new york yankees winning the stanley cup
Fuck, when the hell are they gonna institute salary caps? This is getting fucking ridiculous.
It does seem that linux hater doesn't post as much, could I get any volunteer moderators if I started a blog?

...the girl who strips naked, draws "fuck me" on herself with permanent marker, patrols frathouse row on Friday night, then complains she got raped.
So when your father fucks you in the ass, you willingly participate?
And you are upset that others don't like it, when you, your rapist father or your whore mother screw around...
...
You know Adam, at this point, the only solution to your problems is fire.
Fact is we should torch your family as well.
LOL more TM Repo/JoeMonco posting as anon.
Only 4 posts remain!
LOL more TM Repo/JoeMonco posting as anon.
LOL, it's actually me.
But I don't mind if you attribute my post to either TMR or Joe.
They might; but what can you do, life is hard here on LHB.
3 to go...
Re: TM Repositories 24 hours trollfest,
I haven't seen such monomania since Joe Monco and the Java Calendar class..
